Gorgeous vintage root beer Lucite necklace with translucent oval beads and gold-tone spacers. The beads look deep chocolate/root beer brown in normal light, but when the light hits them they glow in shades of cognac, amber and deep reddish cherry.
Measures approximately 24" long and features a matching Lucite screw clasp, so even the closure disappears beautifully into the design when worn.
This is a substantial vintage strand, but because it's Lucite it's much lighter and easier to wear than a similar necklace made from glass or stone.
Purchased as vintage Lucite. I'm downsizing my early plastics collection. There is normal light surface wear consistent with age, including some fine scratches, but I don't see any significant chips or broken beads. Please see photos for condition.
A really beautiful example of vintage plastic jewelry, especially if you collect Lucite, mid-century costume jewelry or warm amber/root beer pieces.
